What Hiro is doing is too inevitable. Lettinng bad digimon roam free is bad for everyone. lol
He didn't really let Jyureimon off, it's Jyureimon that fled to heal.
The cherry tree will grow back and then... Well, let's hope Hiro won't be too soft to let it go...
i guess that lesson of this episode, he needs to stop being scared of losing Gammamon to his darker half whenever they kill a digimon, that will only put them in danger
next time Grus / Gulus pops up.... it is not gonna be pretty at all
cherrymon's an ultamate most of the one's that got away are WAY WAY stronger then the hero's digimons are. they wouldn't stand a chance if they went all out.
I have to admit, the big fight in this episode is a lot better than what we usually get from this show. One commenter said the animation in this episode is especially bad, but I actually saw a bit of fluidity in the fight in this one (Especially nearing the end. How was that bad animation? I don't get it) and it's also nice to see the Digimon evolve and not finish the battle with just one attack from each again. Maybe this is a sign of things to come.
true
The fight animetion on this ep looked a lot better comapred with before and im really happy about it
I wish they going to improve more ! Because this anime is really fun to watch and underrated
So this is where it starts, the conflict of killing or not killing Digimons, I'm glad this show is bringing such conflict back in full force and I dare to predict that the next episodes (specially judging by the preview of the next one) will push the kids to the limit that they will be forced to kill in self defense, that will bring some interesting development down the line if that's how the story will be from now on.
I clearly don't understand Japanese camping procedures. You pay to get out of the campground instead of paying to get in? You buy your firewood but you make your own fishing rod? I really don't understand it.
Seems someone still has PST from dark gammamon
Wonder when they will fix it
Never, because I'm sure that sooner or later, the kids will be forced to kill other Digimons in self defense, that's when the true dark part of the show starts.
wait a minute. Jyuraimon SLOWLY eats the humans, meaning some were probably still alive inside of him....and they let him escape...well, they are dead dead.
The whole concept of the dark and misty forest with creepy trees really works. The writers and director did a great job.
It seems this the first time, or at least the only time I notice it is a budget episode. Every episode before was very detailed in the drawing. This episode is very simple in many scenes and almost drawn in a rush.
yeah. it seems like they got a boost in fightning animation
It's giving me Digimon World nostalgia. MoriShellmon and Cherrymon both from Misty Trees in the game.
I got adventure flashbacks when those appeared.
SURE adventure had sea Shellmon but still
Next episode I will be more surprised if IceDevimon ISN'T the main digimon threat
The Digimon in Ep 17 is Frozomon, a quite New Digimon Debut in DIM CARD Blizzard Fang
Aw, that's disappointing. Was hoping for BlueMeramon, since it hasn't made any main appearance in anime and it's ghastly appearance suits Ghost Game well. But I guess merchandise promotion takes priority.
It's Frozomon. But it doesn't match with the episode. So it might be another digimon causing the frost.
It isn't IceDevimon. It's an Arctic Digimon. It seems to have metal armor. I'll figure out later. I really hope it's not Zudomon.
Jellymon-sama will go through your computer history
I think their main issue to overcome will be to accept that Gulus is part of who Gammamon is.
Next episode seems interesting
beach episode ?
So, next episode will be
No boys allowed!
<-- 40 years of camping experience.
Hiro, 13 years old: better at erecting a tent than I am. -__-;
i can see Hiro being reluctant to let Gammamon kill another digimon in the fear of causing Gulus coming out, which is a good reason ....even the other 2 agree that Gulus is too dangerous but i don't think Gammamon will have the same reaction from killing a baddy compared to what happened with bookmon. Gulus is part of Gammamon and there will always be a chance the fucker pops out but that shouldn't keep him from disposing of evil digimon who are bent out to harm others.
It's true that there's a huge conflict now, but things are getting so dangerous that I'm sure the kinds will be forced to kill other Digimons in self defense, this episode was intense in that aspect and I'm sure it will likely be the norm from now on... pushing things to the limit till someone breaks.
I love this show, I really do. It's so fun and much better than Digimon Adventure 2020 trash we got BUT I have to say that animation and art are terrible. Usually it's mediocre, however in this episode and the episode before it were pretty badly-animated.
The art is very inconsistent, their faces keep changing literally every minute. This is really unprofessional and animation only got good during the last 1 minute.
I enjoyed this episode but they have to do something about animation because it's lacking. Also I noticed that the music in this show is very similar to the original Adventure's.
Really you just say unprofessional with ease like that , broo this anime made in big studio of course a lot anime they made not focus only on digimon and they need more budget for good animation.
Paradoxe : It's a weekly anime. If you want quality, try to wait two weeks before the next one. -__-
next ep looks scary as hell Yooooooooooo
This ep had A man eating killer Tree
I love how people call this a kid show lol
“Our new home!” “I’m his little brother!” Gammamon is the CUTEST
Anyone else felt that the quality of the animation and art of this episode seemed to have dropped?
now that everyone has their digivolutions i wonder if we will get slide digivolutions for gammamon
I really like the show, it has a good music and really unique and interesting writing.
unless it will drop out in quality I think it will be in my top three Digimon series with adventure 01 and tamers.
Has there been a good Jyureimon / Cherrymon ? Or those are always destined to be villains in all continuities?
Tamers and Adventure 2020 had neutral/good Jyureimon, and Savers/Data Squad had one outright good one protecting baby digimon. It's been a decently even split on good/evil ones til now - OG Adventure, Adventure 02, and Frontier had evil ones - this just added another to that pile.
There was a Cherrymon in Digimon World 1, he basically serves as your teleport for the north-west A-S rank areas (Misty Trees, Toy Town, Freezeland West) he also has a really good BRN training and he reveals some of the game lore to you, albeit being badly translated. he is one of the few digimon in the game in the 'totally passive' group.
getting to him is super hard, you have to either wrap all the way around through great canyon through the whole of freezeland, or find your way through the maze of misty trees mist (changes screen warps ) MoriShellmon are also a common in the misty trees, so this is really weird to see this episode 23 years later almost to the day
Woof... the expressions and some of the animation in this episode are pretty stiff. the story is okay at least. I also like Jyureimon's design. Most of the budget seems to have been allocated to the fight scenes at least.
Trees will be trees.
uuuuh ice devimon??
kids show btw
Wait, how come Jellymon let Hiro call her just "Jellymon"?
Noctyrannus : She has other way to play with him. Also, he's not her underling, yet. (O/\O)
Tree
this episode probably has the worst animation so far, what happened Toei? Getting salty after Totally Not Mark's incident?
So this was a dark forest type of episode with Jyureimon luring humans to him and then eating them. Both of them are here to stay too since they have both fully materialized.
While Hiro isn't afraid of Gulus he is actively trying to prevent Gammamon from getting blood on his hands fearing the mental toll on Gammamon.
